Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Cairo
Upon arrival at Cairo Airport, you will be greeted by a Best Egypt Tours representative holding a sign with your name. You’ll then be transferred by an air-conditioned car to your hotel. Enjoy a relaxing evening and overnight stay in Cairo.
Day 2: Pyramids of Giza, Sakkara, and Dahshur
After breakfast, start your day with a visit to the Pyramids of Giza—Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus—along with the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple. Enjoy various photo opportunities. Next, head to Sakkara to explore the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the oldest stone structure in Egypt, followed by a visit to Memphis, the ancient capital, and the Red and Bent Pyramids in Dahshur. Optional evening activity: Sound & Light show at the Pyramids. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 3: Egyptian Museum, Manial Palace & Khan El Khalili Bazaar
After breakfast, visit the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, home to an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian art. Continue with a tour of Manial Palace and Gayer Anderson Museum. Finish your day with a visit to the famous Khan El Khalili Bazaar. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 4: Luxor East Bank
After breakfast, fly from Cairo to Luxor. Begin your sightseeing with a visit to the Karnak Temple, exploring its grand architecture and sacred sites. Then visit Luxor Temple, renowned for its statues of Ramses II. Continue to the Luxor Museum for more insights into the city’s history. Overnight in Luxor.
Day 5: Luxor West Bank
Explore the West Bank of Luxor, starting with the Valley of the Kings, where you will visit three tombs. Visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the only female pharaoh of Egypt, followed by the tombs of the Nobles and the Ramasseum. Stop at the Colossi of Memnon before returning to your hotel. Overnight in Luxor.
Day 6: Abydos & Dendera
After breakfast, visit the Temple of Seti I at Abydos, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt, followed by the Temple of Hathor at Dendera, dedicated to the goddess of love and joy. Return to Luxor for the evening. Overnight in Luxor.
Day 7: Edfu & Kom Ombo – Aswan
Drive to Edfu to see the well-preserved Temple of Horus, dedicated to the falcon-headed god. Continue to Kom Ombo, known for its double temple, dedicated to both Sobek, the crocodile-headed god, and Horus. Then proceed to Aswan, where you will spend the night. Overnight in Aswan.
Day 8: Abu Simbel
After breakfast, travel to the majestic Temple of Abu Simbel, built by Ramses II, and its companion temple dedicated to Nefertari. Return to Aswan in the evening. Overnight in Aswan.
Day 9: Aswan Sightseeing
Visit the High Dam, a marvel of modern engineering, followed by the Unfinished Obelisk, which shows how ancient Egyptians carved these massive monuments. Finish the day with a tour of Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis. Return to your hotel. Overnight in Aswan.
Day 10: Aswan to Cairo
Fly from Aswan back to Cairo. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Optional: Enjoy a Nile Cruise dinner with a traditional Egyptian folk show. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 11: Alexandria Tour
After breakfast, travel to Alexandria. Begin with a visit to the Library of Alexandria, one of the largest libraries in the world. Continue to the site of the Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the Qaitbay Citadel. Visit the royal gardens and the stunning Abbo Elabbas Mosque. Stop at the Church of St. Mark, the oldest church in Africa, before a scenic drive along the Cornish. Return to Cairo for the night. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 12: Departure from Cairo
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Cairo Airport for your flight home. Our representative will assist you with the final departure formalities.
