Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Cairo
Upon your arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be greeted by a representative from Best Egypt Tours holding a sign with the company name. From there, you will be transferred in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel in Cairo. Spend the evening settling in and preparing for the adventures ahead. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 2: Discovering Cairo’s Highlights
Start the day with breakfast at your hotel, followed by a visit to the world-renowned Egyptian Museum of Antiquities. Here, you will explore a vast collection of artefacts spanning over 5,000 years, including the legendary treasures of King Tutankhamun. Later, proceed to the Great Pyramids of Giza—Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos—and the enigmatic Sphinx. The experience also includes a complimentary camel ride near the pyramids. In the evening, you may choose an optional excursion to enjoy the captivating Sound and Light Show at the pyramids. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 3: Leisure Day in Cairo
After breakfast, enjoy a day of leisure to explore Cairo at your own pace or relax at your hotel. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 4: Alexandria’s Historical Treasures
After breakfast, travel to Alexandria with your guide. Begin your tour with a visit to the Library of Alexandria, considered one of the most extensive libraries in the world. Explore its open court and free museums. Continue to the site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria, now the location of the Qaitbey Citadel. Stroll through the royal gardens of King Farouk and admire the Haramlek and Salamlek palaces. Visit the Abbo Elabbas Mosque, the Memorial of the Unknown Soldier, and the statue of Alexander the Great. For a panoramic view of the city, drive along the Corniche, passing the Stanley Bridge and the old harbour with its underwater monuments. End the day with a visit to St. Mark’s Church, the oldest in Africa. Overnight in Alexandria.
Day 5: Leisure Day in Alexandria
Enjoy breakfast and a free day to explore Alexandria or relax at your leisure. Overnight in Alexandria.
Day 6: Return to Cairo
After breakfast, transfer back to Cairo by air-conditioned vehicle. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day as you wish. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 7: Sakkara and Dahshur Tour
After breakfast, visit the Step Pyramid of King Djoser in Sakkara, considered the oldest major stone structure in the world. Proceed to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt, and view the impressive Statue of Ramses II. Conclude the day with a visit to the Red Pyramid and Bent Pyramid in Dahshur. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 8: Citadel and Old Cairo Tour
After breakfast, begin your tour at Salah El-Din Citadel, a historic fortress built to protect Cairo from the Crusaders. Within the citadel, explore the majestic Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque, designed by a Turkish architect and built for Mohamed Ali Pasha. Continue to Old Cairo to visit the Hanging Church, Ben Ezra Synagogue, Church of St. Barbara, and Church of Abu Serga. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 9: Journey to Aswan
Following breakfast, transfer to Cairo Airport for your flight to Aswan. Upon arrival, a representative will transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to enjoy the beauty of Aswan at your own pace. Overnight in Aswan.
Day 10: Excursion to Abu Simbel
After breakfast, embark on a journey to the iconic Temples of Abu Simbel, constructed by Ramses II and renowned for their colossal statues and intricate carvings. You will also visit the smaller temple dedicated to Queen Nefertari. Return to Aswan for an overnight stay.
Day 11: Begin Your Nile Cruise
After breakfast, visit the Aswan High Dam and the beautiful Philae Temple. Then, board your Nile cruise ship and enjoy lunch on board. In the afternoon, sail to Kom Ombo and explore the unique temple dedicated to the gods Sobek and Horus. Continue your journey to Edfu while enjoying dinner and an overnight stay on board.
Day 12: Nile Cruise to Luxor
Begin your day with breakfast on board before visiting the Temple of Horus in Edfu. Sail through the Esna Lock en route to Luxor, enjoying afternoon tea on the deck. In the evening, delight in a traditional Galabeya party. Overnight on board the cruise ship.
Day 13: Luxor’s West Bank
After breakfast, cross to the West Bank of Luxor to explore the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon. Spend the night on board the cruise ship in Luxor.
Day 14: Luxor’s East Bank and Optional Hot Air Balloon
Start the day with an optional hot air balloon ride over the Valley of the Kings and Queens, providing breathtaking views. After breakfast, disembark and visit the Karnak Temple Complex and Luxor Temple. Conclude the day with a transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay in Luxor.
Day 15: Departure
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before being transferred to Luxor Airport. A Best Egypt Tours representative will assist with your departure formalities, ensuring a smooth and comfortable end to your journey.
